San Fernando Valley Business Journal
Publisher & Editor
How long have you been volunteering in the community?
I have been involved in the the Valley’s business community ever since I became publisher of the San Fernando Valley Business Journal in March 2016.
Tell us a little about yourself.
I am just a journalist. It is all I have ever wanted to be. I have been a reporter, senior writer, editor, columnist and now publisher. Somehow I managed to win national awards at each post.
I was editor of the Los Angeles Business Journal for 10 years, and I am proud to say that it was named the best business journal in the country for six of the last eight years of my tenure there.
I also was a Fulbright scholar to Japan, and I was named Los Angeles’ Outstanding News Professional of the Year in 2015.
What is one of your Passion Projects that you are working on?
I have always been passionate about journalism. Every new story is my new love. Also, I am passionate about doing whatever I can to improve the business climate in our area. Whether it is helping an individual business in some way or being part of a group to advocate for change, I want to be there.
Why do you continue to be a member of The Valley Economic Alliance?
I am a member of TVEA because it has the reputation of being a meaningful and impactful local business organization.
