A Conversation With:
Robbie Gluckson
UCLA Health
Director of Marketing, Development & Community Outreach
How long have you been volunteering in the community?
I have been an active volunteer in the community for 27 years.
Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a senior marketing, management and nonprofit executive with an extensive track record in marketing services and community outreach, both in the commercial and private sectors. I was formerly employed by the Premiere Oncology Foundation, Oakwood Worldwide, the Pritikin Longevity Centers, and Architectural Digest.
I have served on a variety of nonprofit boards throughout the years. My encore career leading the Premiere Oncology Foundation, a ground-breaking Phase I cancer research organization, re-energized my passion for community service.
Transitioning to my current position as Director of Marketing, Community Outreach & Development for UCLA Health has been rewarding and filled with exciting challenges. UCLA Health delivers groundbreaking, world-renowned healthcare services for a lifetime of good health to millions of California residents.
I am a true believer that healthcare is a right, not a privilege. I am a champion of patient rights and world-class medical services delivered with compassion, one patient at a time.

What is one of your Passion Projects that you are working on?
I have two passion projects. My first is mentoring women of all ages by providing career advice and insights into careers in community outreach.
My second project stems from grave concern for our planet. With the help of my younger daughter I removed all of my front sodded lawn and now have a thriving California Native landscape. It is a true labor of love and the rewards are visible every day I step outside. UCLA Extension’s California Native Garden class is inspiring change across Southern California and I strongly encourage everyone to follow in my footsteps.
Why do you continue to be a member of The Valley Economic Alliance?
I am a member of The Valley Economic Alliance (TVEA) because it is the premier organization that connects hundreds of businesses, including UCLA Health, to the most valuable business resources in the area. San Fernando Valley business leaders rely on TVEA for its wealth of business knowledge and connections.
