Honoring Outstanding Leadership: The Valley Economic Alliance Hosts Historic Award Recognition Night

On the evening of February 22, 2024, in a tribute to outstanding community leadership, The Valley Economic Alliance proudly convened its highly anticipated and first ever Awards Recognition Night, bringing together over 200 government, corporate, small business and community leaders to honor the remarkable achievements of two individuals who have positively shaped the future of the San Fernando Valley.

The historic and at-capacity gathering featured honorees Robert Hertzberg, Former Speaker of the California State Assembly and Former California State Senate Majority Leader, and Paul Koretz, Former Los Angeles City Councilmember and Former California State Assemblymember.

Held at the prestigious Encino Banquet and Gardens, graciously hosted by the St. Mary’s Assyrian Church Parish Priest and Board of Trustees, attendees came together to celebrate a unified sense of leadership, dedication, and profound community impact.

The evening was further dignified and elevated with formal presentations and distinguished guest speakers, including Congressman Brad Sherman , Los Angeles County Assessor Jeffrey Prang, LAPD Chief Michel Moore, LAPD Deputy Chief Ruby Flores, and LAFD Deputy Chief Jason Hing.

Alliance Chair Fred Gaines led the presentation on behalf of The Valley Economic Alliance for former Speaker Robert Hertzberg, followed by Alliance President and CEO Sonya Blake leading the presentation for former Councilmember Paul Koretz. Master of Ceremonies Alliance Vice President of External Affairs Greg Martayan recognized the dignitaries and delegations in attendance.
