Alliance Strengthens Partnership with the City of Calabasas on Economic Growth & Public Safety

On October 11, 2024, Alliance Vice President of External Affairs Greg Martayan joined Calabasas Mayor Alicia Weintraub and Councilmembers David Shapiro and Edward Albrecht to engage in productive meetings with Calabasas residents and local business owners. The immersive visit provided a critical platform to reaffirm the strong partnership between the City of Calabasas and The Valley Economic Alliance, underscoring their shared commitment to economic development and public safety.

Mayor Weintraub and Councilmembers Shapiro and Albrecht discussed the City’s ongoing priorities, highlighting continued collaborative opportunities to support a resilient local economy. Meanwhile, Mr. Martayan engaged in thoughtful dialogue about the City’s long-term growth and strategic planning efforts. These discussions with Calabasas City leadership emphasized the importance of streamlining municipal operations and promoting infrastructure investment. The Alliance, as a key regional institution, is committed to supporting these initiatives, which will enhance the quality of life for all residents.

A portion of the visit was dedicated to a public safety walk with Calabasas officials, and Captain Jennifer Seetoo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. This tour of key areas allowed City leadership and law enforcement to discuss in detail their current public safety strategies, including efforts to deter crime and enhance community security. Mr. Martayan commended the City’s proactive approach to ensuring safety, reinforcing that public safety in business corridors remains a top priority for The Valley Economic Alliance.

In addition, Sheriff’s Captain Seetoo invited Mr. Martayan to visit and tour the Real Time Watch Center at the Lost Hills Station, which was recently inaugurated.  The Center provides for real time imagery reporting and support for law enforcement, as they try to prevent crime, respond to crimes in progress, and investigate crimes that have already taken place.
