01 Sep Celebrating Our Patrons: Highlights from the 5th Annual Patron Appreciation Breakfast

The Valley Economic Alliance hosted its 5th Annual Patron Appreciation Breakfast, bringing together community leaders, business executives, and civic partners from across the San Fernando Valley. This annual tradition celebrates the Patron Sponsors whose leadership, support, and active involvement help The Alliance advance its initiatives and strengthen economic opportunity throughout the region.
Armida Colmenares-Stafford, Chair of The Valley Economic Alliance Board of Directors, recognized the important role Patrons play in the organization’s work, sharing, “Our Patrons are more than supporters—they are partners in strengthening our region. Their commitment, leadership, and willingness to invest in our shared future make a meaningful difference across the San Fernando Valley.”
Alliance President and CEO Sonya Kay Blake emphasized the collective impact of Patron support, noting, “Our Patron Sponsors give The Alliance the ability to turn vision into action. Their investment and engagement help us bring businesses and communities together, create opportunities, and move important work forward across the Valley.”
The breakfast included remarks from Burbank Mayor Tamala Takahashi, San Fernando Mayor Victoria Perez, and Calabasas Mayor Pro Tem Edward Albrecht, who shared perspectives on the priorities and opportunities shaping their communities and the region.

Three Patrons were also recognized for their service to the community and their continued support of The Alliance: Republic Services, BuildAbility, and CBIZ. Their contributions reflect the spirit of partnership and civic engagement that makes the Patron community such an important part of The Alliance’s work.
Greg Martayan, Alliance Executive Vice President of External Affairs, reflected on the significance of the morning and the role of Patrons, sharing, “Our Patrons are deeply invested in the success of the San Fernando Valley. They bring their expertise, relationships, and resources to the table, helping The Alliance connect people, advance initiatives, and create meaningful impact throughout the region.”
The 5th Annual Patron Appreciation Breakfast reaffirmed The Alliance’s appreciation for the businesses and organizations that stand alongside the organization in building a stronger, more connected, and economically vibrant San Fernando Valley.
The Alliance extends special thanks to Van Nuys Airport (Presenting Sponsor) and Port of Long Beach (Supporting Sponsor) for their generous support of this year’s event and their continued partnership. Southland Regional Association of REALTORS® is also recognized for graciously hosting the event and providing a welcoming setting for the celebration.
