The Valley Economic Alliance Launches Discover SFV Website for World Tourism Day
Sherman Oaks, California – The Valley Economic Alliance (The Alliance) today launched Discover SFV, a tourism campaign to promote visitorship to the San Fernando Valley region in celebration of World Tourism Day. “With increased tourism anticipated leading up to major sports events such as the World Cup in 2026 and Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2028, The Alliance is working now to position the San Fernando Valley region as a desirable destination for tourists to boost the local economy and create jobs,” said Alliance President & CEO Sonya Blake.
The region includes the cities of Burbank, Calabasas, Glendale, Los Angeles, and San Fernando, which individually and together offer a variety of amenities and experiences for international tourists, domestic visitors, and local patrons to enjoy. With Valley destinations ranging from Balboa Park to Discovery Cube, the Soraya Performing Arts Center to NoHo theater district, and parks to fine restaurants and hotels, Los Angeles visitors will find distinctive and memorable experiences with less traffic congestion by focusing their stay in the Valley.
With support from Calabasas-based Cowe Communications and Santa Monica College, the Discover SFV website features activities that local residents would also enjoy and encourages residents to “buy local” as a way of supporting local small businesses, a job-creating engine of our local economy. “The San Fernando Valley is a fun place to visit with a variety of experiences for locals and international travelers,” said Miri Rossitto, President of Cowe Communications. “We are proud to support visitorship to our favorite place on earth.”
To encourage residents to include activities in their weekend calendars, the site lists upcoming festivals and events for visitors to enjoy and a variety of blog-style Visitor Guides with curated experiences such as Top Taco Places, Hikes with Breathtaking Views, Fun Nights Out, Memorable Museums, and Places to Visit with Kids. The site also spotlights visitor ideas, including Arts & Culture, Parks and Recreation, Restaurants, Beauty & Wellness, Shopping, and Entertainment. The site also invites local hot spots to apply to be featured.
For residents to enjoy “staycations” away from home and for visitors from out of town, the Discover SFV site features Valley hotel finding tools, making it easy and convenient to plan an overnight stay after visiting Valley hot spots.
