08 Jan Together in Crisis: Resources for Navigating the Los Angeles Fires
As fires rage across Los Angeles County, we are deeply saddened by the devastation and loss our communities are facing. With four major fires—Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, and Woodley—exacerbated by extreme winds and power outages, the impact has been catastrophic. Upwards of 1,000 buildings have been destroyed, 28,000 are under threat, and tens of thousands of residents have been evacuated. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this crisis.
During this time of uncertainty, we know that community safety and recovery must take precedence. In light of the ongoing emergency, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 3rd Annual Our Region | Our Future Summit. While we remain committed to convening leaders and stakeholders to shape the future of our region, our focus now must be on supporting those affected by this tragedy and ensuring the safety of our community members. We will provide updates regarding the rescheduled date as soon as possible.
As we navigate this crisis, we stand in solidarity with the residents and families whose lives have been upended, and we extend our deepest sympathies to everyone impacted. We also recognize the incredible bravery and selflessness of first responders, firefighters, and emergency personnel who are working tirelessly to protect lives and property.
