Sold Out Grant Writing Workshop for Nonprofit Organizations and Businesses

Sherman Oaks, CA – A sold out crowd of local non-profit organizations and businesses gathered at The Valley Economic Alliance on Thursday, June 5 for a Grant Writing Workshop. In partnership with the San Fernando Valley Community Foundation and California Consulting LLC, attendees had the opportunity to receive pertinent information and tips on how to craft your grant application and turn it into a highly competitive document.

“The first rule of grant writing is ensuring the grant you want to apply for is actually a good fit for your organization. The grant dollars are plentiful, but crafting the correct application and having the infrastructure in place to manage the grant post award is critical,” said Steve Samuelian, Owner, California Consulting, LLC.

Robert Scott, President & CEO of the San Fernando Valley Community Foundation shed light on the recently-launched Valley Philanthropy Initiative with a video presentation. The initiative is to help foundations, corporations, and individual donors learn about the good work of more than 4,000 nonprofits in the Valley region of Los Angeles, and make more strategic investments in them, so they can better serve the residents and communities of the region.

“TVEA did an excellent job in putting on the non-profit grant writing seminar. Wells Fargo is honored to be able to support the local non-profits that make such a big impact in our community. We received very appreciative feedback from the attendees regarding the investment, commercial lending, and grant writing information that was provided,” said Michael Anderson, Commercial Loan Officer, Wells Fargo Business Banking.
Guests also had a question and answer session with the presenters, followed by networking and refreshments.
